Dartfield - Ireland's Horseworld, Museum and Equestrian Park
.................................................................................................................................................
The Irish are famous for their horse culture. Dartfield highlights the
relationship between the Irish people and their horses.
The Museum is built on 350 acres of parkland. Informative displays and audiovisual
screens show the contribution of the horse from the earliest times to the
present day. Live exhibits of horse and pony breeds are a unique feature.
Dartfield owns the largest herd of Connemara ponies in the world. Activities
and amenities include nature trails, carriage rides, pony rides and horse riding.
For groups of 20+ there is clay pigeon shooting, archery, team games, treasure
hunts, guided farm walks and an interactive presentation of the Irish horse
(advance booking necessary). There is also a café and giftshop on site. Various
events run throughout the year, please telephone for details.
