The museum is located in the restored 18th century gaol of Down.
Featuring restored cells complete with prisoners stories, the museum
offers a fascinating glimpse into the turbulent 18th and 19th centuries.
The museum also houses a superb new exhibition on life in County Down
from earliest times to today. This display features hundreds of unique
artefacts, audio-visual displays, audio points and hands-on facilities.
The museum also has an extensive programme of special events and
activities.
