Armagh is a special city with a significance and influence felt across the island for 6500 years. It is also a City that is at the heart of celebrating the life of Saint Patrick and is a major destination on the Saint Patrick’s Trail.

There are many special things to experience in Armagh, ranging from the historically unique Navan Fort, two Saint Patrick’s Cathedrals, Ireland’s only Planetarium, Irish Fusiliers Museum, Armagh County Museum, No 5 Vicars’ Hill, the Cardinal O'Fiaich Memorial Library and Archive, the Milford House Collection, Armagh Public Library, unmatched Georgian architecture, the amazing green space of the Mall and the chance to indulge in all manner of activities in a beautiful natural environment.

DINING / REFRESHMENTS

PICNICS
The Mall, an amazing green space in the centre of Armagh, is suitable for impromptu picnics. Whilst there are no specific tables in The Mall, there are bins located close by.  

SHOPPING
Armagh has a strong presence of independent retailers and the visitor will find many quirky and unusual gifts in the stores.  

FAMILY FRIENDLY
Armagh is family-friendly. Leisure facilities include soft play and swimming pool, planetarium, theatre with wide range of kids arts, crafts and drama. Green space in The Mall all kids to stretch their legs; there is a play park in the Palace Demesne with walks, an orienteering trail and sensory garden. 

PARKING
Combination of free and paid for car parking in the City. Coach parking is available at various attractions and drop off points in the city centre. Lunch vouchers are provided to coach drivers through the Visitor Information Centre. 

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS
Most public spaces have wheelchair access. There are accessible public toilets located across the City, and toilets with baby changing facilities. 

GROUPS
Groups are welcome and well catered for.

WALKING & DRIVING
Navan Fort, located just outside the city centre, is the starting point for the Pilgrim’s Trail, a walking route following in the footsteps of Saint Patrick. Armagh is part of the 92 mile Saint Patrick's Country driving route.
