The Planter and The Gael is a joint between Donegal County Museum and Derry City Council Heritage and Museum Service. This project aims to increase awareness of the Plantation and its impact on both Donegal and Derry. We hope to enable people from all communities to better understand the influence of the Plantation on their heritage and on the environment and landscapes in which they live.

History Comes to Life
Once a week during July and August, the Donegal County Museum is bringing our Museum’s Workhouse history to life. The museum building is formerly the  Warden's House  of the Letterkenny Workhouse. It’s doors opened in 1845, shortly before the Famine. We invite you to come along to meet the officals, inmates and hear of life inside the Workhouse.
They are free of charge and open to all. For further information Donegal County Museum, High Rd, Letterkenny.
