Larne Museum is a lively community Museum very much at the centre of cultural life in the Borough of Larne. The Museum is located within the former Carnegie Free Public Library, which first opened its doors to the public in 1906. This historic building, beautifully restored and renovated with many of its original features remaining intact, not only houses Larne Museum but is also home to Larne Art Club and Larne Drama Circle.

The Museum’s main gallery reflects the area’s rich maritime, industrial and agricultural heritage. Visitors may listen to oral history recordings at the Museum’s listening posts and view many historic photographs on the interactive computer. A programme of temporary exhibitions may be seen throughout the year in the John Clifford Gallery (also located in the Museum)
