Here are just some of our planned activities during February and March


Evolve, Croke Park, Dublin  1
Dates: February 3, 2016

Heritage Island attending this business-to-business workshop with key international players in online travel industry. It is a networking event with one-to-one scheduled meetings with online players such as Get Your Guide, E-Dreams and Travel Zoo to name but a few.The event is focused on delivering new capacity into Ireland for 2016 and beyond.


Great Days Out – Group Organisers Event Northern Ireland
Dates: February 17, 2016

The Tourism Northern Ireland Great Days Out Fair for Group Organisers takes place this year in Armagh and is designed to showcase days out experiences for groups, targeting group organisers based in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Heritage Island will attend, presenting our full portfolio of member attractions. In 2015, 650 group organisers were targeted to attend this event.


Explore GB, Liverpool
Dates: March 3-4, 2016

Heritage Island attending. ExploreGB is VisitBritain’s flagship event and provides Great British & Irish tourism suppliers and destinations with an opportunity to meet and do business with up to 300 hosted international travel buyers from 40+ countries. It is a two-day workshop filled with pre-scheduled, one-to-one appointments. Heritage Island attended this event in Ascot in 2015 and made valuable connections.


Irish Tour Operators Association Workshops
Dates: March 8 (Strand Hotel Limerick) and March 10 (Fitzpatrick’s Castle Hotel, Dublin), 2016   

The Incoming Tour Operators Association (ITOA) is the representative association of Ireland’s premier inbound tour operators, designing creative programs and itineraries for escorted tour groups, individual holiday makers and business tourists including incentive, corporate meetings and conferences. This year, Heritage Island are also attending the Dublin based event.


ITB Berlin, Germany 
Dates: March 9-13, 2016

One of the World’s leading travel trade shows. Tourism Ireland are hosting a stand at this event, from which Heritage Island promotional guides/discount passes will be on display and distributed.


The British Tourism & Travel Show – the very best of Britain & Ireland, NEC, Birmingham     
Dates: March 16-17, 2016

Formerly the Best of Britain and Ireland Show (BOBI), this event plays host to destinations, venues and attractions dedicated exclusively to the UK and Irish markets. Thousands of travel professionals attend with a focus on group and coach operators in particular. Four Heritage Island members will attend on a Heritage Island – Ireland’s Premier Attractions stand in 2016, representing the organisation and distributing our Travel Organisers Manuals.


Goodwood Members Meeting 2016, Chichester, West Sussex
Dates: March 19-20, 2016

A consumer promotion taking place at a new style of motor racing event. Ireland’s Blue Book, with whom we have a wonderful relationship, will have representation at this event, and will also distribute the Heritage Island touring guides/discount passes there on our behalf.


Consumer and Trade Communications

Throughout February and March we will be communicating with consumers and travel trade professionals worldwide through our print programmes, eNewletters and online channels. We are therefore very keen to gather as much information on ‘What’s New’ at our member attractions to feature in our printed ‘What’s New’ brochure and our eNewletters. If you have any news, please let us know. Our printed ‘What’s New’ will be available for distribution at Meitheal and Meet the Buyer in April, however we will be continually updating our ‘Member News’ section of the website throughout the year.


Heritage Island A4 Travel Trade Manual 2016/2017

Our Travel Trade A4 Manual will move into distribution in March. This is a hugely popular publication of specific interest to FIT and group operators / organisers, and is used by Travel Professionals worldwide to help them plan their Ireland Programmes and Itineraries.


New Heritage Island Website – Building Content

We will continue building content on our new Heritage Island website – adding YOUR events as we get them, along with Consumer and Travel Trade news and tour suggestions. We’ll also be adding a “Travel Trade and Media Resources” section, which will highlight our supports and facilitate the download of softcopy Heritage Island publications, etc.

Note: We are particularly keen to get your Saint Patrick’s Day, Easter and 1916 Commemorative Events.


Heritage Island Brochure Distribution

We will continue to strategically distribute our brochures to consumers and trade, as we move towards the high season. We work with a number of brochure distribution companies within Ireland targeting the visitor holidaying in Ireland, in addition to distribution of guides/discount passes at numerous events over the months.


New Partnerships

We will continue to work to forge new partnerships with a view to increasing awareness of the Heritage Island brand and our members e.g. The Keelings Fruit Promotion over the past couple of years has been extremely successful, and we are on the look-out for other partnership opportunities.
