Dates: March 3-4, 2016
ExploreGB is VisitBritain’s flagship event and provides Great British & Irish tourism suppliers and destinations with an opportunity to meet and do business with up to 300 hosted international travel buyers from 40+ countries. It is a two-day workshop filled with pre-scheduled, one-to-one appointments. Heritage Island attended this event in Ascot in 2015 and made valuable connections. We expect this years event to be similarly successful.

One of our trade partners - Ireland’s Blue Book are taking a stand at the AXA National Classic Car Show, which takes place at the RDS Dublin. They will be distributing our Heritage Island touring guides over the two days, along with their own publication. This event is aimed at car enthusiasts, who love nothing more than driving around the country in their downtime, and are always looking for ideas as to what to see and do along the way. The Incoming Tour Operators Association (ITOA) is the representative association of Ireland’s premier inbound tour operators, designing creative programs and itineraries for escorted tour groups, individual holiday makers and business tourists including incentive, corporate meetings and conferences. This year, Heritage Island will be attending the Dublin based event.

One of the World’s leading travel trade shows. Tourism Ireland are hosting a stand at this event, from which Heritage Island promotional guides/discount passes will be on display and distributed.

Formerly the Best of Britain and Ireland Show (BOBI), this event plays host to destinations, venues and attractions dedicated exclusively to the UK and Irish markets. Thousands of travel professionals attend with a focus on group and coach operators in particular. Four Heritage Island members will attend on a Heritage Island – Ireland’s Premier Attractions stand in 2016, representing the organisation and distributing our Travel Organisers Manuals.

A consumer promotion taking place at a new style of motor racing event. Ireland’s Blue Book, with whom we have a wonderful relationship, will have representation at this event, and will also distribute the Heritage Island touring guides/discount passes there on our behalf.

This B2B Matchmaking Partnering event, organised by Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland, brings together travel organisations from Ireland’s major markets around the globe, who are interested in collaborating with Irish Tourism interests, for mutual commercial benefit. The event facilitates one-to-one 10-minute pre-scheduled meetings.
As always, Heritage Island will attend this annual event, building upon existing relationships with operators and introducing Ireland’s premier attractions to new operators. This is always a great opportunity for informing the trade as to what’s new with our members and also introducing our new members to them.

Heritage Island will, once again, attend this annual Meet the Buyer Workshop which takes place on 12th and 13th April. The main workshop will take place on Wednesday 13th April at St George's Market, Belfast.
In 2016, it is hoped to attract around 130 of the world’s most respected tour operators. This year strict criteria have been established to ensure that all the buyers are of high quality and have a real propensity to deliver business and we are looking forward to an extremely successful and productive event in 2016.
Research from previous years has shown that over 90% of the Northern Ireland industry who attended the workshop have confirmed that the quality of the buyers attending this important event has steadily improved over the last few years. It is the aim of Tourism Northern Ireland to ensure that this quality is enhanced further for this year’s event.
As many of you will know, Heritage Island liaised with Where Visitor Media on the launch of their new WhereCards service in Dublin last September. Where® is an international brand that drives billions of euro of travel purchases each year. Their new WhereCards service is currently being rolled out and will be a powerful channel, reaching millions of visitors while they are in Dublin.
As an introductory launch special, Where Visitor Media have agreed to provide Heritage Island Dublin member attractions with free exposure until June 2016. This includes covering the cost of design, print and distribution of 30,000 whereCARDS specifically promoting Dublin attractions as a value-add membership benefit. It also includes free profiling on www.WhereDublin.com
Throughout March and April we will be communicating with consumers and travel trade professionals worldwide through our print programmes, eNewletters and online channels. We are therefore very keen to gather as much information on ‘What’s New’ at our member attractions to feature in our printed ‘What’s New’ brochure and our eNewletters. If you have any news, please let us know. Our printed ‘What’s New’ will be available for distribution at Meitheal and Meet the Buyer in April, however we will be continually updating our ‘Member News’ section of the website throughout the year.
We will continue building content on our new Heritage Island website – adding YOUR events as we get them, along with Consumer and Travel Trade news and tour suggestions.
Note: We are particularly keen to get your Easter and 1916 Commemorative Events, and also your summer events (giving overseas visitors an opportunity to see them early).
We will continue to strategically distribute our brochures to consumers and trade, as we move towards the high season. We are working with a number of brochure distribution companies within Ireland targeting the visitor holidaying in Ireland, in addition to distribution of guides/discount passes at numerous events over these months.
