Thousands of visitors from all over the island of Ireland will flock to the stunning Antrim Castle Gardens over the three days of Allianz Garden Show Ireland, enjoying the fabulous Festival of Flowers, Food and Fun.
Ireland’s Blue Book will represent Heritage Island at this event, carrying and distributing our A5 touring guides/discount passes - the perfect companion to their own guide to wonderful accommodation and dining experiences.
The demographic at this show is an exact match of the target audience we are seeking to attract to Ireland’s premier visitor attractions.

Heritage Island will have a stand at Bord Bia's 'Bloom in the Park', taking place in the Phoenix Park Dublin over the June bank holiday weekend, from Thursday 2nd June until Monday 6th June. It showcases exquisite show gardens, from the very best of Ireland’s landscape gardeners and designers. Our stand will be located in The Pavilion, a great location. Visitors to this event are the exact demographic of those who enjoy visiting member attractions. The timing is also excellent – just ahead of the high season. Heritage Island member attractions will participate on our stand at the show (a free opportunity to member attractions).
The Keelings Fruit Summer Promotion, which promotes 2 for 1 offers to participating Heritage Island members, kicks off from Mid June. We complete the collation and scripting of offers before mid May. We then provide Keelings with the data in a format that allows them to quickly advance the offer cards to be inserted into 1.2 million Keelings Berry packs (strawberries, blueberries and raspberries). The packs, which include a flash label, are distributed through the main supermarket channels.
The offer will be communicated on packs from mid-June to mid-August with the offer redeemable from mid-June – October 31st, encouraging more visits in the shoulder season also.
Keelings will also promote the activity across all their digital assets including Facebook (54,000 fans), Twitter (2,000) & E-zine (25,000+), in addition to Heritage Island’s own online and social media. The promotion will also feature again on National Radio and advertising in National newspapers.
Attractions participating this year include Hook Lighthouse, Aillwee Cave, Aviva Stadium Tours, GAA Museum - Croke Park, Belleek Pottery, Tower Museum, Navan Centre & Fort, Birr Castle Gardens & Science Centre, Eagles Flying, Airfield Estate, Irish Whiskey Museum, Jeanie Johnston, Bunratty Castle & Folkpark and Malahide Castle and Gardens… to name but a few. It's a promotion that always bears fruit!
Throughout May and June we will continue to communicate with consumers and travel trade professionals worldwide through our print programmes, eNewletters and online channels. We will have a consumer 'Summer Days Out' newsletter issuing late in May (and will feature 'Summer Days Out' on our website), so please send us your news.
We will continue building content on our new Heritage Island website – adding YOUR events as we get them, along with Consumer and Travel Trade news and tour suggestions.
Please send us in details and images of forthcoming events at your attractions, PARTICULARLY YOUR SUMMER EVENTS. Some of you are excellent at sending on details, however we know that many more of you have wonderful events taking place which we are not hearing about. We want to provide as much exposure for these events as possible, but we need your input.
We need to receive your event details AT LEAST One Month ahead of its start date in order to give trade and consumer reasonable notice. However, the earlier the better. There is no value in putting up any content close-in to its start date. To save you time you can just email us the information - we need the events title, dates, venue, a circa 60-word description, a link to the website it features on (a deep link if you have it); and a good photo image either landscape or square in shape.
Offering Tickets as Prizes can be a very effective way of leveraging awareness in our member attractions. We are therefore opening our own ‘Heritage Island Prize Bank’ and will be both running some competitions ourselves and will be looking at possible placement opportunities with other channels to gain exposure. If you would like to put some tickets, or other prizes, in our Prize Bank we will usefully use them. You can do so here and see more information.
We constantly get requests from members enquiring about how the season is for other members within their Region generally. We can often give a view, but only informed by ad-hoc feedback and anything we glean from Fáilte Ireland's top-line barometer.
We are prepared to invest in research, but are first going to communicate with members to ascertain what research might best help to inform, guide and be usefully used. We will be sending out a note to all members later in May and will invite feedback. We'll then be advancing the research project based on feedback. All the findings gleaned from this research will be shared with participating members.
If you are not already selling tickets in our Heritage Island ‘Ticket Shop’, and would like to, let us know. There is no cost involved. You can even trial it by selling some test tickets. Tickets are set up, unique to your attraction, and can be online within hours. Visitors can then buy these tickets in advance of travel, and so commit early to visiting you.
We are also working with our partner company, TopAttractionsIreland.com, on the development of a new Events Ticket module and this work will be completed during May. It means that even if you have your own booking engine for attraction visits, you can use it for events. There are no set up costs; commissions are low and it will remove all the administrative hassle associated with setting up and selling your event tickets online - it's all done for you, including automated reporting.
Separately, if you don't have a booking engine, Top Attractions Ireland can also provide this free of charge.

We continue to strategically distribute our brochures to consumers and trade, as we move towards the high season. We are working with a number of brochure distribution companies within Ireland and WhereCARDS in Dublin, targeting the visitor holidaying in Ireland, in addition to distribution of guides/discount passes at numerous events over these months.
Orders for the Heritage Island touring guides continue to be received daily via our website and shipped to addresses worldwide. We find that this publication in particular is used as a planning tool by visitors.

Heritage Island will again be hosting a stand at this event in the Main Hall. It is always a popular event for members participating with us and is free to attend as a benefit of membership.
