We also look forward to meeting some of our Northern Ireland members at this event.

As everyone in tourism knows, the World Travel Market is the largest event of its kind in the world. It attracts more than 50,000 travel industry professionals each year and generates over €3 billion of travel industry contracts.
Heritage Island will have a presence for the duration of the event with an ‘outside desk’ on the Ireland stand. We will be highlighting that Heritage Island has been playing an integral role in the Tourism Industry for 25 years – and we will be sharing news up-dates from our members with all interested travel trade. We will also be inviting Tour Operators to join our ‘Priority Partners’ Programme.
We are delighted that some of our members will be joining us on the Heritage Island desk during the show, taking advantage of the opportunity to set up meetings and to share their information with visitors to the event.
If you would like more information, please contact Caroline@HeritageIsland.com. We will be in touch with all members soon looking for ‘news’ stories and updates which we can share with the Travel Trade and Media we meet at the Show.
Dates: Friday, January 27 to Sunday, January 29, 2017
Holiday World is one of the busiest consumer events of the calendar for Heritage Island and is also a great opportunity for many of our members to network with each other. We have reserved the same location as in previous years – just inside the main entrance. If you are either 'Definitely Interested' or 'May be Interested', please let us know by clicking on the 'Interested' button.
Dates: Thursday, March 2 and Friday, March 3, 2017
ExploreGB is VisitBritain’s flagship event providing Great British & Irish tourism suppliers and destinations with an invaluable opportunity to meet and do business with up to 350 hosted international travel buyers from 40+ countries. ExploreGB consists of a two-day workshop with pre-scheduled, one-to-one appointments.
This will be Heritage Island’s third year attending this excellent event. Each year we have met over 40 buyers from all over the globe – some with whom we work with already, and others who are new to Ireland and who value our briefings and our Travel Organiser Manuals.
As those of you who have been members for many years will know, our annual membership will renew on October 1, 2016. As in previous years, we will be sending on membership forms for you to confirm membership in the coming weeks, and also to confirm any updates for the Heritage Island and Top Attractions Ireland websites, the two consumer publications and the Travel Trade Manual 2017/2018.
Last year you provided us with comprehensive profiles for your products, and we know it was time-heavy for you. This year it will be a much simpler and quicker process. In most cases you will just need to provide us with updates to your rates and opening hours… plus any new upgrades/ additions or edits you require.
The deadline for the distribution of our consumer publications is Holiday World in January, so when we communicate with you about your 2017 profile, we will be looking for a quick turnaround!
Important: Many of the opportunities listed here are part of the membership period October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017. To participate in these, and be included in all the publications we use to promote our members, you must be a fully confirmed member at that time. We hope you will continue your membership with Heritage Island, as we have lots of new initiatives planned for 2017 – a special year when Heritage Island celebrates 25 years supporting visitor attractions throughout the Island of Ireland.
If you email us your Autumn and Winter Events, news, new photo images or videos, we will use them on our website and through special promotions. We will be very active in our communications with the travel trade too, so make sure to keep us up-to-date!
Watch out for our next State of the Season ‘snap view’ survey in early September. When you receive it, please complete it. It takes less than 3 minutes and high response levels are essential. We will share the feedback with respondents.
During the Summer months, 42 Heritage Island member attractions participated in the Keelings Fruit / Heritage Island promotion, with vouchers distributed via 1.5 million packs of fruit. There was a surge in the purchase of berries, so more vouchers were printed and distributed than initially planned. We would love to hear how the promotion has been going for you, so please drop us an email with any feedback you have to firstname.lastname@example.org. Remember, the vouchers are valid until the end of October, so hopefully they will continue to be presented during the shoulder season.
Our Partner Company, Top Attractions Ireland, has sent over 16,000 independent (non-group) visitors to attractions around Ireland. If you are not selling some tickets through them, and through our Heritage Island Ticket Shop, then you are missing out on incremental business. There are no costs involved. Do you want to know more? Just email john.leonard@TopAttractionsIreland.com
Next year there will be plenty of reasons to be part of Heritage Island – more networking events, more promotions and new marketing initiatives. It will be our busiest year ever, as we mark our 25th year working in support of our members. We are currently finalising our promotional plans and, in addition to doing more of almost everything; we will be undertaking a series of new initiatives to increase awareness and deliver more business to you as a member. We also plan an 'Insights' programme to take in and share learnings from our members and from some attractions around the world. We'll share our plans with you soon!
