The Boyne Valley, situated on the east coast of Ireland, is only 30 minutes from Dublin. Virtually every important event in Irish history took place in the Boyne Valley, making it the best place to start your holiday in Ireland.

Some of its best known attractions include the 5,000 year old burial chambers at the Newgrange and Knowth part of the Brù na Bóinne UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the interpretive centre at the Battle of the Boyne site. Tour the Millmount Museum and Martello Tower to experience the wonderful views over Drogheda and its medieval St. Laurence's Gate. Marvel at the early Christian High Crosses at Monasterboice and kells.

No visit would be complete without seeing Trim Castle, the best preserved and most impressive Anglo Norman castle in Ireland. It is situated in the heritage town of Trim where you can also enjoy guided tours and a leisurely walk down the River Boyne.
