The award-winning Hook Lighthouse Visitor Centre offers experiential guided tours of the Medieval Hook Lighthouse Tower. Purpose built 800 years ago, Hook Lighthouse is the oldest intact operational Lighthouse in the World. Local Tour guides renowned for their friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining style, make each tour experience unique.
As you discover the secrets of this 800-year-old Tower you will also meet some of the important characters of this historic building, including the 5th century St. Dubhan, ‘The Greatest Knight’ the Norman Lord of Leinster, William Marshal and the Lighthouse keepers who lived and worked at Hook over the years. The tour culminates on the Lighthouse Balcony where visitors are greeted with spectacular views. The tour experience is suitable for all ages and groups.
The Visitor Centre has much to offer including free indoor and outdoor exhibits, Art and Crafts, a gift shop and a Café along with an information centre on Sustainability and Recycling.
Relax by the Sea at Hook Lighthouse Visitor Centre, in clear weather, you can see for miles and during storms the Sea spray often reaches the top of the Lighthouse Tower.
Premium group tour experiences include exclusive evening events showcasing local food and drink with full exclusive access. Enjoy experiences such as a Traditional Fish and Chip Supper or a spectacular Sunset or Sunrise Tour Experience (suitable for adult groups of over 12 persons).

Visitor Centre, café and gift shop and ground floor are accessible. The exhibition is accessible. The lighthouse, by its nature, is not accessible for mobility impaired. Wheelchair accessible toilet.

Hook Lighthouse is a two and a half hour drive from Dublin using the M9 motorway to Waterford or the Coastal route using the N11 to Wexford. This part of Ireland is best explored by car with lots of villages, attractions and scenic opportunities within short distances.
